How do we form our teams?

The club encourages teams to form based on friendship groups. This means players may come and go from a team over the years as friendships change. There may also be a range of skills and abilities within teams.

Where the club receives interest from new players, the club connects them with the team managers of the most appropriate team to ascertain if there is an available and suitable place in the team, and if the players previous netball experience or skills are considered an appropriate fit.

It is the coach and team manager’s responsibility to coordinate team formation, after discussion with their player and parent group. There will be times when difficult decisions need to be made. Team managers and coaches are responsible for these decisions with the wellbeing of all players in mind.

Ideally each team will have 9 or 10 players with 8 being the minimum for team registration.

Open Teams can have as many players as the team and team manager chooses.

When do I need to register?

BDNA Winter Competition

Start organising your team in October for team registrations in late November.

For new individuals wanting to join, please contact the registration manager to see what spots are available.  Expressions of interest should be made as soon as possible so we can register the right number of teams, but spots may still be available through to March or April.
